Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrival & Island Transfer Private transfer from Brisbane, Gold Coast or Byron Bay, then ferry crossing to Moreton Island. On arrival, take to the skies on a scenic helicopter flight over the island — turquoise waters, towering sand dunes and the iconic Tangalooma Wrecks laid out below you. Settle into your private island house, just steps from the beach, and enjoy a premium welcome dinner as the sun sets over the bay.

Day 2 — Eastern Beach Expedition Guided 4WD exploration along the eastern beach. Visit the Blue Lagoon for swim in its fresh water, Cape Moreton Lighthouse for panoramic views, swim at the natural rock pools of the Champagne Pools and walk the sheltered waters of Honeymoon Bay. Return to the resort for a relaxed beachfront evening.

Day 3 — Western Coast & Kooringal Remote 4WD journey along the western beach to the coastal settlement of Kooringal. Taste fresh Moreton Bay rock oysters, explore quieter shorelines and wildlife-rich landscapes, then return along pristine western beaches and a walk to historical Rous Battery then back to Tangalooma.

Day 4 — Flexible Leisure Day Choose your own adventure — quad biking sand dunes, parasailing, sandboarding, helicopter rides, or snorkelling the iconic Tangalooma Wrecks. Optional wild dolphin feeding, kayaking and wildlife encounters. Or simply relax at the private accommodation.

Day 5 — Departure Leisurely breakfast beachside. Relaxed morning to soak in the island one last time before the ferry transfer back to the mainland and private drop-off to your original pickup location.

    • What to bring: Swimwear, reef shoes for the rock pools, and a hat — most of the journey is spent outdoors on beaches and dunes.

On Moreton there's no single address. For each departure we secure one of the island's premium privately-owned homes — ocean-facing, architect-built and steps from the sand — matched to your group and your dates. You take the whole house, exclusively, with wraparound decks over the bay and open-plan living that folds out to the sea breeze.

Moreton Island Packing List

    • Lightweight shorts and t-shirts (4-5 pairs) — you'll be outdoors most of the day

    • Long sleeve layer for evenings

    • Light jacket or windbreaker for ferry crossing and evening sea breeze

    • Swimwear (2-3 sets — you'll be in and out of the water daily)

    • Comfortable casual clothes for resort evenings

    • Underwear and socks for 5 days

    • Comfortable walking sandals or reef shoes — essential for rock pools and beach walking
